The Melk-Man for President campaign has hit a huge snag, as Carbrera has tested positive for using testosterone, and now will miss the Giants n
ext 50 games. This is a huge setback for both the team and the player. Melky was on his way to a second consecutive 200-hit season, leading the team back to the postseason; and more than likely a huge contract, and the team was perhaps moving towards a chance at another title. Now, it appears that all of those possibilities are in jeopardy. Immediately, questions about Cabrera’s late career turnaround have begun, and he is facing a tough road to a new contract.
As for the Giants, there’s no getting around the fact that this is a major setback. Whether they have enough offense to get through this remains to be seen, with Melky being first or second on the team in virtually every offensive category.
It also begs the question as to whether Sabean knew this was coming when he swung the deal for Hunter Pence, especially considering Hanley Ramirez was probably a better fit for the team.
UPDATE: This goes from bad to worse:
In a bizarre attempt to avoid a 50-game drug suspension, San Francisco Giants star Melky Cabrera created a fictitious website and a nonexistent product designed to prove he inadvertently took the banned substance that caused a positive test under Major League Baseball’s drug program.
But instead of exonerating Cabrera of steroid use, the Internet stunt trapped him in a web of lies.
Wow. Now he not only looks like he flat-out cheated and used steroids to get better, he also looks like a fool. This pretty much means he won’t be back next season as a Giant. The last thing the Giants are gonna put up with cheapest viagra is another player in their clubhouse being investigated by Novitzky.
What a stunning fall from grace for a fan favorite, and a player who was a couple of months away from a huge payday.

Thor Halloween costumes are designed for adult males, christian louboutin outlet young boys and females who are into Norse mythology. There are different types of Thor costumes and many of them reflect how the character was portrayed in Marvel Comics over the years.
Hunter Pence surprised everyone, including Bochy, by executing a perfect push bunt in the 5th inning to keep the rally alive. It was a thing of beauty.
team still has balls, things couldn’t look bleaker walking into dodger stadium and we just guaranteed the series win and go for the sweep tomorrow w cain on the hill, i aint hear no bell
The Dodgers just aren’t very good. Against Reds, Pirates, Nationals, Giants have been clearly outmatched and played to a standstill by Cards and Mets. Rangers and Angels humiliated them, and even the Mariners took 2 of 3.
They play hard and Bochy does a good job with what he has. And Sabean, once again, has clearly put together a $69 million payroll at twice the price.
nice, way to be as negative as humanly possible… And not even accurate really…
This season:
v. Cin 3-4
v. Pit 3-3
v. Wash 1-5
v. stl (team ahead of pit) 3-2
Only the nats have really taken it to us, and even there it’s 6 games and they’re an inexperienced team on the verge of shutting their ace down, no reason to think we can’t beat them in a playoff series, step off the bridge dude the giants are in first and the staff overall is hitting their stride heading into september, you don’t have to win every game, just get in and let someone try to outpitch us

How can we look at players like Joey Votto and Trout and not wonder?
Conte is certainly not the only guy who knows his way around testing. Its obvious that many Olympic athletes are doping, yet even with the most stringest testing in the world, they only catch a handful.
On the other hand, many of these drugs do help players stay at their peak, and why not allow players to do what they are paid to do? Its the abuse, not the use that should be the concern. otherwise, we have what we have now, a system that encourages “intelligent cheating”. $50 million dollar and up contracts are a pretty good incentive to cheat, no matter what testing regime is implemented. I’d rather see intelligent, authorized and monitored usage of these substances, at least the playing field is level.
Its easy for me to look at Trout, Pujols, Votto and King fucking Kong for that matter and not wonder if they’re using peds. They’re crazy not to. And not the shit coming up via Tiajuana with no quality control I’m talking the good reliable medical quality.
Any of these high and mighty assholes looking around at the DL list glad those guys aren’t using? Fucking bullshit. I wanna see jacks, bombs, no-hitters 103 mph fastballs and the best fucking baseball possible. Under medical supervision PEDS are the best goddamn thing in the world for certain athletes, surpassing Tommy John ligament transplantation surgery , arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery and other miracle medical treatments.
To listen to these whining fucking pussies, MRIs and Catscans are unfair to the poor so nobody should be able to have that kind of diagnostic procedures available to them either. It would give them an unfair advantage in life expectancy. It wouldn’t be fair. wahahahahah. Fuck off self-righteous maggot sucking fakers.
So fans got fucked out of watching Bonds, Palmeiro, Manny, Cabrera, Mota, Clemens, Gagne, Sosa, Magwire.
Aren’t you just fucking delighted that the douchebags in the government, media, and WADA got their way and protected your children from all of that?
Ryan Braun and Barry Bonds are my fucking heroes.
The nutsack-lickers are going to be wringing out their undies from now until the end of time because nobody is going to quit doing everything possible to keep their jobs, especially professional athletes. Tell me you won’t do 80 in a 65 to keep from getting fired and I’ll tell you live in a fantasy land.
Anyway, the fucking assfaces in the Bay Area are just plain pathetic lemming-like and unaccountable for their stupidity hypocrisy http://www.wherehaveyougonejoe.com/?p=20120711192156914
good work E, thanks for the references and hard work.
that is some rough shit trantor. u must be looking to raise some hackles
Considering Melky’s agent had discussions with Senior management around the all-star break, when Melky had the preliminary results, the agent had a fiduciary obligation to inform the Giants.
While Sabean may have hoped for another Ryan Braun back door, a trade was forced. Why Pence over Ramirez is a great question. I would have preferred Ramirez also, maybe the lower production numbers scared Sabean away?
How many players are on HGH, testosterone, Estrogen derivitaves, and other hard to detect hormones? I would guess quite a few. We have to be suspicius of any third world athlete with great numbers now. They have everything to gain, little to lose and a culture that requires them to succeed at much higher risk levels than most american born athletes. Not that we should not be suspicious of any surges in performance by American born players.
All of baseball is again under a cloud. Braun was incredibly lucky to get a free pass. Didn’t Conte recenlty quip that 25% or more are STILL using? Melky makes that claim much more believable.
