The Giants need to get their offense going, no question. I’d love to see a trade for Jose Reyes. but Crawford looks like the real deal, so maybe my hopes might be dashed.

    told by doctors that he would probably never walk, due to severely deformed feet…he works his butt off and gets drafted by the sox…and before he can taste a ws title…they trade him to the bucs…where he excels…makes the as team, wins a batting title..and gets a fat contract…yet, because he plays so hard, he becomes injury prone, and they deal him for what is now a failed pitcher

    and he comes to the giants…and works his butt off from shoulder and knee surgery…and is a huge part of a team that wins the ws

    and he is rewarded with an extension to his contract

    healthy….he looks again to have a really good shot to make it to the as team…and who knows…maybe another batting title…and then bammmm

    its all so fucking futile

    btw…i like crawford’s d….a lot….and they still havent found his hole…kid is grounded…and hes cheap…and maybe he can avoid the curse

    with neukum at the helm, the giants will not trade farm hands for a rental

    best stories of the year for the giants are the prof and vsong

    giants do need a bat, but dont look for any major moves till the deadline

    and they are looking for a catcher…but as they need one…people are asking for a lot

    An obvious move: make a trade for a LH-hitting catcher who plays decent defense and can put up a .250/.300/.400 line against RHP. Then platoon this guy with Whiteside, who can start twice a week against LHP. This will upgrade the Giants’ catching situation from “the worst in baseball” to “below average,” which will improve the team by 2-3 games. This plus Sandoval’s return should be enough to win this weak division.

      You know what? The hell with upgrading 10% at catcher. Jose Reyes would improve the team by something like 6 wins.

      Batting Torres, Sanchez, Reyes, Panda, Huff, Ross, Burrell/Crawford/whoever….

      He gives us EXACTLY what we need, speed, hits, and an upgrade at short defensively.

      And he’s not necessarily a rental. We’ve got money coming off the books.
