Nate Schierholtz (who is no relation of mine, by the way) is one of the most undervalued players on the Giants’ squad. His OPS this season is .771.
I would play him every day.
His defense at AT&T is exceptional. Nobody has done it better, or even come close. Nobody.
He has a cannon for an arm. He’s accurate. I laugh when runners test his arm. Confidence and competence.
If he could hit better he’d be a perennial all star. I think he’d hit better if he had more playing time.
I have never heard a bad word said about him as a teammate or as a person.
That certainly was an exciting extra inning ballgame last night. Nate the great is playing great baseball. What great timing for his hitting to come through in these situations during the last few games. Timmy got some bad breaks in the fourth inning. However I thought he pitched a great game for not having his best stuff. Hopefully the lights don’t go out in tonight’s game. Go Sanchez. Go Giants!
