  1. This is very helpful for storing your extra knowledge. Thanks.

I think Sandoval’s weight problem is more serious than he realizes. The announcers were talking about how he was doing so much cardio during the season that he was too pooped to play but that is the first I’ve ever heard about that and I doubt their reporting. He has, if anything, gained weight during the season. (He is listed at 245 pounds, but that is a fiction.) His batting average dropped 62 points from last season and, more telling, his OPS has dropped 211 points. He went from being exceptionally good to league average.

The reason I say it is a more serious problem than Sandoval realizes is that it could cost him his career. He has marital problems, he has an eating disorder (I’m assuming) but Major League Baseball doesn’t give a rat’s rear end about his problems. Professional sports are all about performance. Even Darryl Strawberry, an eight time all star, finally got the boot when he couldn’t clean up his act, and he had years of great performance on his resume that made trying to help him worth the effort. Not so with Sandoval.

A fan favorite, a great guy, a seller of silly panda hats, Sandoval led the league in grounding into double plays this season with 26. His problems at the plate are so pronounced, the questions about his mental state and the obvious problems with his physical state (at the age of 24-25) make him a bad risk as a long term prospect. He is rapidly becoming, at best, a project for rehabilitation in the minor leagues.

And it is his fault. He has been given help with his diet, he has access to trainers and dieticians galore. He is making enough money to see a sports psychologist. But he is obviously not following their advice. He is gaining weight, and that is physically impossible if he was, in fact, following his diet and workout regimen. He is cheating himself.

It is sad to see, and I am sorry to say it, but I don’t think he can, or should, make the team if he shows up at spring training, a 25 year old professional athlete, weighing 250+ pounds. If he was getting the job done his weight would be less of an issue, but that is not the case. So it’s up to him to make progress in the offseason. He has the potential and the skill, it is up to him to make the effort. I hope he does.

    Revisionist History…

The bullshit never stops, and the Giants version of Tokyo Rose (Mercnews) is always willing to add icing to the strawberry fruitcakes that Sabean is always trying to peddle.

“Giants GM Brian Sabean revealed Wednesday that he knew from the moment he signed Molina that the club would trade him later in the summer.

“That was rehearsed — set in stone, really — once we decided not to start the year with Buster,” Sabean told the Mercury News. “Bengie was going to be a bridge, and once Buster was ready, we were going to bring him into the mix and trade Bengie.

“That was the plan almost going all the way back to the winter meetings (in December). We were fortuitous that Bengie turned down the Mets and signed with us. But (if not), we would’ve signed another catcher and lined it up the same way, because Buster wasn’t ready.”

The Giants promoted Posey on May 29, but he mostly played first base before the Giants traded Molina for right-hander Chris Ray and pitching prospect Michael Main. Sabean said he wanted Posey to ease into the big leagues and get comfortable at the plate before the club asked him to take over behind it, too.”

What a crock of shit. Sabean kept Molina behind the dish in the starting lineup for another month, until it just got to point of absurdity, with Molina playing complete games right up until the end of June where the Giants punctuated his “contribution” by dropping two games to Toronto, two out of three games to Houston, his one start against the Red Sox as well as finishing out his splendid Giants career with two straight losses to the Dodgers.

While he was in the lineup for those final 8 games the Giants scored 2,0,3,3,5,1,2,2. Thats 2.2 runs per game. The Giants sole win came against Houston, and Posey had been up for a fucking month (27 games) and had caught exactly 2 games out of the 27 games the Giants played going 13-14.

I’m sure that was exactly the plan. Because Javier Valentine, Brad Ausmus, Jose Molina and Michael Barret were viable options???? This isn’t even in the realm of believability.

“Okay Boch. Here’s the plan. We’ll bid against ourselves and re-sign Vinnie Cas…er uhm Bengie Molina. Then we’ll watch him bring the lineup down and minimize our scoring opportunities with a .300 OBP. Then we’ll stare stupidly as he waves at pitches 5 millimeters above his shoulders on their way to the backstop, when he’s not glaring at those big old mean dust bunnies when balls skip by him in the dirt. Then he’ look at his glove like it has a hole in it. That cracks me up Boch…how about you?”

And then when folks start calling us out on our bullshit and want Posey we’ll just remind them that the pitching in AAA is the shits, and Posy’s stats don’t mean anything because the pitching is shitty in AAA, and then when they want us to get rid of Brett Tom…. er uhm Todd Wellemeyer and call up Madison Bumgarner, we’ll tell them Bumgarner’s stats don’t mean anything because the hitting is shitty in AAA and besides, the kid didn’t have his mind on baseball in the offseason when he was being childish and got married and had to go to his sister’s funeral instead of doing the adult things like Angel Villalona and shoot up a night club, or eat 400 pounds of donuts and 297 dozen crisco burgers like Sandoval.

That will teach Tidrow to Evans to Barr to fuck up my gritty vet plan with overpaid draft-choices. I thought they learned their lessons when I almost forced the dope-fiend skinny kid into arbitration, and to not bug me with anymore of these goddamned kids…fucking assholes. Wait’ll I get ahold of Baer and Nuekom and tell ‘em how expensive its going to be if we bring up these immature kids up and how it will set back my amzing plan to sneak into 2nd place this year.”

So Sabean had it in his mind all along to trade for Chris Ray? What the fuck? No really. What the fuck is this bullshit doing in the middle of the most closely played post-season in the entire history of the Giants?

Fucking cocksuckers can’t give the fucking front-office smog a rest until after the post-season. Motherfuckers have to make up unbelievable shit to spoon feed to the delirious folks who don’t know any better. A new low in journalistic integrity.

Here’s the bottom line. Bengie Molina played like most rational baseball people thought he would play like. Horrible. Wellemyer pitched like the has-been we all thought he was.

It was never Sabean’s thought that Posey would be ready this year, let alone Bumgarner. People keep forgetting he is a creature of the 1980s and in his fucking world nobody should be allowed in the majors until they are 24 years old. Not 21. Not 22. Not 23. But 24.

He didn’t want Lincecum up here. He didn’t want Cain up here. He didn’t want Sanchez up in 2006 either. He has bad-mouthed and trash talked every single fucking young player that Tidrow and Barr and Evans have sent up to the Big Club since I can’t remember how long.

And lest we forget, by the Giants own admission, Sabean took Cody Ross to keep him from the Padres. Sabean had already reached in for his third American cast-off designated hitter Jose Guillen to play outfield.

Guillen was his fucking guy. Not Ross.

Wellemeyer was Sabean’s guy, not Bumgarner. Bumgarner was Evan’s guy.

Molina was Sabean’s guy, not Posey. Posey was Evans’ and Barr’s guy.

I mean how long is this fucking charade going to continue. Fucking sports writers are fucking ridiculous. I guess a parking pass to the players’ lot is all it takes these days for a guy to allow himself to be used like a ten and two hooker.

Save all the other crap for mid-November…You can do this my man.

It’s all about today…and tonight is a momentous occasion in Gigantes History.

One More Game…Let’s get positive…and reel this baby home.

I’ll be toasting you tonight dude.

Fucking season’s over anyway boys, America’s most loveable sexual harrasser tells me so on MLB Network. Harold “Hands” Reynolds says “Giants are in trouble”, and “its set up perfectly for the Phils, Giants gotta go through Oswalt and Hamels”……uh douche bag, don’t THEY gotta go through Sanchez and Cain??!! Didn’t we already beat that mental fucking midget Hamels?? The fucking national media NEVER ceases to amaze me, they don’t give a fuck for anyone outside of Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox or Phillies….I wish our boy +mia would let loose on these pieces of shit like he does on our front office….it makes me hate watching any coverage of our team…then you got Mitch “gas can” Williams and his fucking quadruple thick fucking glasses, its no fucking wonder that guy was so wild, between his unbashed homerism for the Phils and complete lack of respect for our team……..fuck them all…….

      • +mia says:

I don’t think anybody wants to get me started on Billy (my brother was good-I sucked-and stole roster spots from better players) Ripkin. On Kevin Booger-eater Mildew and his stupid affectation Cowboy-Up crap from the 04 Red Sox. Pair those two douches up with Matt Vaginaerisan and Reynolds and its like listening to 4 cackling eunuchs with Munchhausen syndrome.

I honestly cannot stand more than a minute or two of any of this. On any network. Somewhere along the line somebody decided that the game itself was not worthy enough by iteself. Somehow, someone, somewhere convinced some cardboard suit in a boardroom somewhere that any programming concerning itself with Major League Baseball needed the very special botux-like visual graphic and louder is better enhancements of MTV in order to attract and hold an audience. The lyrics and the melody don’t matter. Just show some hag dressed in zit-red Phillie paraphernalia praying for strikeouts, Shane Victorino picking his ass, go yo-yo-you, scowl and grimace and mug for the camera and its all good.

Every year the post season ratings are marginalized. And fucktwitted hammer-brain Selig is merely content to count his 30 pieces of silver while Fox and TBS and ESPN and the dorks at his very own MLB Channel talk to the nation like whooping whining middle-school x-gamers with about as much sincerity as a Brian Sabean radio show.

I just don’t watch or listen to any pre or post shit anymore. There is no insight. There is no real preparation. The “color” guys don’t voice real opinions, lest Selig’s happy happy rowboat to the island of Lilliput be rocked. The voices are grating, the 3 minutes between innings are interminable, the commercials are disgusting, repugnant, and condescending.

Harold Reynolds and his phillies love is the least of my contentions with all of this shit. He is a drop of spit in the ocean of sewage spewing out of the network broadcasts. The only thing missing is Felipe Alou berating Larry Krueger.

ya…i was pretty upset when not one of the hacks questioned sabean about the statement

never mind what happened after posey got called up…lets take a look back at what was going on while he was in the minors

over half of his games played at first

all the scouts said that his bat was good enough to start in the majors, the only thing people questioned was his game calling and work as a backstop…that was why he was sent to work with decker…..but he wasnt playing enough games at catcher

and sabean planned to trade molina for a middle rp??? whos kidding who? the trade benefited texas much more….they werent depending on bengies bat…which relaxed him, thereby increasing his avg

and he was there to work with the young pitchers…and it worked

sabean is a liar and an evil little man

  4. +mia says:

If I’m not mistaken, Daryl dipshit Cousins is behind the dish again tonight, and the other flaming confrontational asshole Iassoga, is scheduled for Game 6 in Philly. Both of these fucks pretend every batter is Eddie Gaedel.

These guys really really destroy the rhythm of the game. They make the fucking game unwatchable. Just flaming assholes trailing a comet’s tail of the third magnitude

  5. Robert says:

Juan Uribe, with “a sore left wrist”, had one of the strangest at bats in recent memory last night. He got a fast ball, then one under the chin.
He was hit by a pitch. Twice. And did not get the call. Both times. Then hit the sac fly to win the game.

  6. uncle joe mccarthy says:

it was nice to see the other manager make some blunders for a change…not having rollins bunt was doofy…going with oswalt was even doofier….forget his game 2 performance, the giants own him…and you are playing with fire to bring him in in a hold situation

happy that torres learned from his mistakes and got patient at the plate…happy that rowand missed the cut off guy and it worked…happy that they didnt fold when the lost the lead twice….its been a fun series

alot more fun then the alcs

whoever wins this series is gonna win the whole fuckin thing…guaranteed

    • Kevin says:

While I hope that’s true because we have overwhelming odds in our favor right now, why do you brush aside a matchup with texas? That team has been hitting the shit out of the ball all playoffs, I think they would make a formidable opponent. Just because they’re not the Yanks doesn’t mean they’re gonna be easy pushovers, besides every bengie at bat of course haha.

      • uncle joe mccarthy says:

yanks have an avg rotation and a shitty pen

tampa has a very good rotation and a shitty pen

the belle is the great equlizer, and 4 of the games will be played there

the lineup is scary, but not scarier than the phils…and the only pitcher that scares me is lee

phils rotation can take care of their hitters too

  7. Buster has a breakout game! Cody contributes but isn’t the ONLY piece in the offensive set! Romo hemorrhages a run but then discovers the wicked slider that brung him to the dance! Panda goes 2-for-1 a la Torres in Game 162, hitting the big 2-run double in the 6th! Torres/Bochy fucking BLOWS a potential run-scoring inning with a DUMB DUMB DUMB steal in the 8th … but before that, he scores a crucial run in the 5th! Rowand — ROWAND! — teams up with Buster to limit the Phucktard damage in their big 5th inning with a BRILLIANT play at the plate! Wilson is FUCKING BALLS in the all-important 9th! And you know the best part — U-RIBE! U-RIBE! U-RIBE! U-RIBE!

    FUCK YEAH!

    • +mia says:

“….then discovers the wicked slider that brung him to the dance! ”

And that, as much as anything, is the untold story of last night. I don’t give Bochy credit for much, but that was one…I am pretty sure, that took some hair and seemed almost anti-Bochy in nature. And here’s why.

The Phils have seen Mr. Nasty and still can’t do anything with it when he’s on top of it. Romo is another of those guys that isn’t supposed to be here. He is misfit, late rounder from U of North Alabama by way of Mesa St. in Grand Junction Colorado after growing up in little town in rural Imperial County.

And unless somebody gave him tickets, he’s never even been close to big game fireworks with so much emotion and money and expectations on his back in his life.

We’ve all seen him pitch, and know how pumped up the kid gets at crunch time. He’s not a stone-colder like Bumgarner or Wilson or Lopez. The kid does a lot of deep breathing out there. Throwing that frisbee takes a lot of balls to throw up there, because if it flattens out, we’ve all seen what happens. When the dot is invisible, nobody can hit it. Nobody.

I think it is extremely important to have your set-up guy if you’re serious about getting into November. Especially with the thump orcs in Texas and New York. If Romo’s slider is working, he is an indispensable weapon in the 8th or even late in the 7th inning going forward.

Thank god Joe Blanton is no longer an Oakland A, and Todd Wellemeyer’s injuries caused him to no longer be a Giant

I really think it was mental with Romo, and he needed to get back on the horse. Huff, Posey, Uribe helped him stay on. Simply huge huge huge huge going forward.

      • MK3 says:

The slider, when on, can be such an unbelievable post-season weapon.

        two words:

        Jeff Nelson

Of course Nelson was two steps away from the Herrenrasse, while the unheralded Romo is such a typical 2010 Giant.

  8. Kevin says:

Bochy’s personnel moves continue to pay off, tho his management of the staff tonight (mainly pulling madbum a bit too early) was brutal. I don’t think there was a person in the world who didn’t see Romo coming in as a bad call.

Those are my only grievances, that aside, WOW ONE WIN FROM THE SERIES!

Buster looks like a 10 year vet, I thought madbum looked unfazed out there as well, which is why I would have left him in longer, kid has massive balls.

Everyone we needed to come through did, Panda showed why if he could get it together we’re a legit threat, and shit even Torres got a hit tonight, hopefully he can carry that confidence on into tomorrow. Keep it going boys, we’re 5 away from doing something special!

  9. JPT says:

The opening day lineup in 2008 looked as bad as any in National League history.

Tomorrow, Tim Lincecum will pitch in front of a home crowd with a chance to make the Series.

    Speechless.

  10. +mia says:

It always comes down to the players.

    Cool Beans!

    • ScottS says:

Told you all back in early Sept that things were aligning…and some sort of Divine Intervention was in play. One game away…

The 2010 Gigantes are a team of destiny. Lincecum will bring it home tonight. We are not going back to Philly…and we are going to stick it to the Networks and sponsors. Everyone wants a Yanks/Phils Series. Not going to Fucking happen. The East Coast is getting shut out this year…and we’re shoving it up their asses tonight.

      This is Our Time Baby.

+mia is All In…and sniffing blood. Fucking nice to see everyone on OBM completely on the same page. Totally Dialed.

It’s Our Time Man…This is what it’s all about.

One More….Time to bring down the house.

      Stay Hot Gigantes.

      • +mia says:

Today or Tomorrow; either one is fine. The good with the bad.

The Bad. Last night’s third inning was a mess. Its over.
The Good. Getting a chance to plant the fucking flag on Philly’s turf while watching a bunch of underage pitchers and overage free agents roll around in the grass while Lincecum runs around shouting “fuck yeah” into every open mike he can find.

        Will be very sweet.

        And oh yeah. Fuck Fox

        • AZ9erFan says:

Feeling good about the weekend with the quiet confidence that the historically good Giants pitching staff will continue to be just that, and as I lay down (pass out) tonight, I think I might ask the big guy for just a couple things:

May Utley continue to be an overrated douchebag…may Howard continue to flail like a windmill…may Mitch Williams get a flair up of the herpes he no doubt has from bangin’ so many pigs on the road….may the Giants turn that fucking band box, insane asylum full of low class scumbags and criminals into a morgue tomorrow….may Bochy post a lineup that I will fucking hate pre-game and then praise post-game….and may America be shocked and appalled as they marvel at the contrast in size between little wee reporter Ken Rosenthal and the sheer mass of Bochy’s head during the post game interview (get the wide lens ready Fox)……….Humm Baby…..its not a lot to ask….
