Yeah, but just seven years ago, the Giants had the best offense in the league. They were better than any American League team.

Sure it's been seven years, but it's been nine years since the Yankees won it all, and in the interim, teams with payrolls as low as $35 million dollars (the Florida Marlins in 2003) have won it all. Teams that haven't won in decades, the Red Sox and White Sox, won it all. The Giants took the best offense in the league, and in seven years, turned it into the worst. Every player, at every position save third base, is worse than the player we had then. Eight of nine.

In what world is that kind of performance rewarded?

I look at the Yankees.

I look at the Giants.

I look at the Fresno Grizzlies.

I realize that the Fresno Grizzlies are closer in talent to the Giants than the Giants are to the Yankees.

It sure is fun watching guys like Rodriguez, Jeter, Posada, Teixeira, Damon, Swisher, battle it out against Cliff Lee and watch Rollins, Victorino, Utely, Howard Werth, and Ibanez go up and take hacks against Sabathia in meaningful games in fucking November as opposed to watching Hefty Trash Bags in spandex named Velez, Molina, Ishikawa, Snatchez, Renteria, Winn, and Rowand hack against Clem Kaddidlehopper for 9 innings.

Watching the Yankees makes one realize just how awful the Giants are and have been for a long time. Not even in the same league.
