That last bit, about what a normal person would do in the position of an elite athlete, finally gives me a lucid answer to all of my moron friends who believe whatever is written in the moron newspapers they read.

Thanks.

and another BTW, the cyst on the hip is the very discussion that Hoskins and Anderson were having on the tape about some Warrior basketball player who had to have the same surgery - with the prosecutorial (and media) interpretation that their discussion meant Bonds was being injected with steroids.

It would have been helpful if Reggie had admitted using steroids. It would be most helpful if Ripken did (because everyone was doing it in the mid-90s and check out his late career power surge), if Ryan did (work-out freak with House who battled injuries, etc), or if Seaver did (as House said, 80 to 90% of the pitchers in the 70s were doing steroids). These are the guys who got huge first-ballot Hall of Fame votes. An admission from one of them would force the mass media realization that they have been idiots for scapegoating one player.

BTW, the Giants cut Dave Roberts, who was a useless paycheck. That is progress as usually they keep the high salaried guys so they aren't wasting money. The Giants could deal Winn or Rowand for not much and bring back Barry since no one else will sign him. I'd rather he get to play in the AL with a contending team, but since he's blackballed it'd be up to the Giants to say F-U to the commish, the colluding GMs, the mediots and other ignoramuses. Would at least be a reason to go to a game that Lincecum isn't pitching.
