Don’t forget abolishing Ty Cobb, who was a 10x the asshole Bonds has ever been, AND he allegedly pistol whipped a man to death in the streets. Not to mention that he and Tris Speaker both were involved with betting and fixing games but were given a reprieve by Commissioner Landis because of lack of evidence.

That’s another thing about the HOF that bugs the crap out of me. All of this first ballot vs. second ballot bullshit. Really, a player is either in or he isn’t, who gives a shit about the details? Talk about pretentious.

the hof became a joke when the wife of a white owner from the negro leagues was elected and buck o’neil was not

it became a travesty when they cancelled the showing of bull durham because of the politics of two of the stars

if bonds and clemens dont get elected, then gaylord perry needs to be removed…and there is a heck of alot more evidence of perry cheating then there is in regards clemens and bonds…my god, the man wrote a book about it

as for schill….the self annointed pope of the mlb, the bible thumping, war loving, republican kiss assing prick…wish that fuck would shut his fat mouth….or need we bring up the paint on the sock thing again?

I’ll worry about what the writers do when the time comes. Considering how often I read their opinions – the bloggers are much more interesting and knowledgeable – I doubt I’ll care too much. The Hall becomes fraudulent on its face if Bonds isn’t elected first ballot.

Of course, this would make the HOF a complete joke. Let’s see, the hall would not include the…

- All time hits leader
- All time HR leader
- Single season HR record
- Most MVP awards
- Most Cy Young awards
- Only player to reach 400/400
- Only player to reach 500/500

And I’m sure a bunch of other stats. The idea that the hall is some sacred club of inclusion is ridiculous, when it’s real purpose should be to document the history of the game. I guess my point is, if these guys aren’t in, then who really gives a shit about the hall of fame anyway?
