…. Too much

If this is true, it’s utterly insane; and if it’s not, then it’s a disgrace for the NY Daily News to print it.

The grand jury investigating Barry Bonds has been extended for another six months, several sources familiar with the government’s case have told the Daily News, and the U.S. Attorney’s office in San Francisco is confident it will have enough evidence to secure an indictment once it resumes in September.

“They seem to feel they have a strong case,” said one source, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

That’s a fucking lie. Strong case? After four years of harrassment and leaks and innuendo and investigations and millions of dollars of taxpayers money wasted? NOW, they have a strong case?

IF. YOU. HAVE. A. STRONG. CASE. INDICT HIM!!!

You lying, sellout, disgraceful, shameful, grandstanding, dirty, rotten scoundrels…. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Ridiculous is right. Truly actions worthy of ridicule by normal thinking people. Do these assholes ever ask themselves “For what purpose?” “For the benefit of whom?” “To what end?” “We are supposed to be government servants, but whom do we really serve?” If one truly scrutinizes the answers to those questions, one cannot help but come away with the same distaste for these government officials that one comes away with when contemplating the latest machinations of Congress, our President and the Courts. It is just one more example of egregious over-stepping by the self-righteous and self-seeking political class.

I am tired of these pricks, and others of their ilk, sending me and you and fucking Martians for all I know, “a message” on how it is their solemn duty to rearrange the universe to their own particular taste. Every day for years on-end we pick up a paper, flip on a radio, a tv, a whatever, and sure enough there’s some self-righteous government wind-merchant announcing to the world that they’re “going to” or “we have to” send a message to “evil doers, well-wishers, gays, straights, minorities, majorities, players, fans, owners, media, audience, etc. that “we, they, you, me, us, them, nobody, anybody, somebody, everybody is going to invoke their will on some segment of civilization and so they just better watch out or else”.

And eggheads sit around, contemplate their navels and wonder why we hate our institutions.

    What a joke.

They keep recycling this exact same story over and over and over again… it’s kind of comical, really.

I’d say that 9 times out of 10 when a prosecutor or grand jury talks about feeling that they have a strong case, they’re full of shit and have next to nothing outside of circumstantial evidence. It’s kind of like the married couple who always brags about how happy they are – you just know they’re miserable.

This is the 4th or 5th time the imminent indictment has been reported.

    and parse the words here

“They seem to feel they have a strong case,” said one source.

That says nothing. It’s an observer’s statement with two wishy-washy words in it. Take out “seem to feel” and it might say something.

Also, they are talking about probability of returning an indictment, not convicting.

The reluctance to go forward is based on the low probability of conviction. They could have indicted him any time.

Plus, this article contains a completely idiotic statement about their concern over the timing.
