The Yankees/Rangers trade that would send Alfonso Soriano to Texas for Alex Rodriguez looks like a done deal. Here’s a roster of columnists with their takes:
Man, for the Red Sox, this means that they have lost what will likely be two of the top four home run hitters of all time. As the season approaches, you will read probably a hundred articles explaining that A-Rod is clearly the better shortstop, and I would guess that eventually Jeter will either move to second or third. There can be no doubt that A-Rod is faster, more athletic and instinctive; and is on his way to being the best shortstop of all time. Jeter is a terrific player himself, but he is clearly overmatched when compared to the reigning Gold Glover (two in a row).
